PARTNERS IN FREEDOM

Vermont Stands Up is proud to be collaborating with our courageous and undeterred partners to bring the film 15 Days, the REAL Story of America’s Pandemic School Closures on a tour across the state.

The film examines how $189.5 billion in federal ESSER funds for schools was tied to extended closures, leading to devastating social and academic outcomes for children.

Directed by Natalya Murakhver and produced with Hawk Jensen and Eli Steele, 15 Days is a documentary revealing why America’s school closures lasted longer than almost any other nation. Murakhver, an NYC “Open Schools” mom who filed a lawsuit against Mayor Bill de Blasio to reopen schools during the pandemic, connected with parents and medical experts across the nation engaged in similar fights in their cities and towns.

Framed as a forensic analysis of what happened to children during school closures, this film blends Murakhver’s perspective as a Soviet immigrant with voices of children and families nationwide, exposing devastating learning loss, mental health crises, and inequality. The film challenges the narrative that “we did the best we could with the info we had” by revealing that key science was available and ignored, and examining how unions and activists influenced the crisis.

Featuring former COVID advisor Stanford’s Dr. Scott Atlas, Stanford epidemiologist Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, former NPR reporter Anya Kamenetz, author Martin Gurri, tech addiction expert Dr. Nicholas Kardaras, USC’s Dr. Morgan Polikoff, legendary NYC basketball coach Ron Naclerio, and Moms for Liberty co-founder Tiffany Justice.

15 DAYS preserves the voices of those who fought to reopen schools and serves as a historical record to protect future generations.

The film is dedicated to Noah Sylvester, who, as a high school student during Covid, suffered immensely during the school closures and took his own life in May 2025 at the age of 21.

Press Release: FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION:

Covid School Closures:

The Institution-Made Disaster that Keeps on Giving

April 8th, 2026:

The population who was at the least risk from the Covid-19, who were the least likely to spread it to others, and who are the most vulnerable to social isolation were made to lock-down, social distance, isolate, wear face masks, do bi-weekly tests and pressured to vaccinate for the longest time period and with the least choice than any other population.

If they did not submit to such “mitigation measures” students in Vermont were not allowed to attend school, play sports or see their friends for two years. And today our school board members in Vermont are willing to continue to impose these same interventions in the future in response to any number of diseases.

After discussing the negative impacts that “Covid” had on their students at Tuesday evening’s school board meeting in Danville, Vermont, board members adopted Policy F-27 as written, without question or debate.

Titled Communicable Disease Mitigation Measures for Students and Staff, F-27 is a recommendation of the Vermont School Board Association, and it states:

It is the policy of the Danville School Board, to implement communicable disease mitigation measures including but not limited to: vaccination of school staff, mask wearing, social distancing, screening testing, quarantine/isolation, improved ventilation, cleaning and disinfecting, and providing hygiene supplies…”

…Communicable disease’ shall include, but not be limited to: Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) or Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV); Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS; Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2); Novel Coronavirus 19 (COVID-19); Ebola; Chicken pox; Hepatitis; Measles; Meningitis; Mononucleosis; Whooping cough; Cholera; Bubonic plague; Anthrax; and any mutations arising from or relating to infectious disease or ‘communicable disease’.”
